The Moron Lagoon is a body of water with shifting tones — turquoise, light blue, and green — appearing like a miracle in the middle of the coastal desert. Its calm waters reflect the sky and the surrounding ravines, creating world-class photographic postcards.
Tambo Colorado is one of the best-preserved Inca fortresses in Peru. Built with polychrome adobe — red, yellow, and white — it served as an important administrative and control center along the Inca route to Cusco.
Detailed Itinerary
Step 1: Departure from Paracas (8:00 AM)
Hotel pickup. Transfer to the interior of the coastal desert with photo stops along the way.
Step 2: Moron Lagoon (9:30 AM)
Arrival at the lagoon. Guided walk along its shores with an explanation of the desert wetland ecosystem. Time for photographs.
Step 3: Tambo Colorado Ruins (11:30 AM)
Guided tour of the Inca fortress. The guide explains its function as a royal tambo (inn), the colors of the adobe, and its relationship with the Qhapaq Ñan (Inca Trail).
Step 4: Lunch and Return (1:30 PM)
Lunch at a local restaurant (not included). Return to Paracas arriving at approximately 3:30 PM.
