Ica is the capital of Peruvian wine and pisco. Its arid lands, bathed in sunshine almost 300 days a year, produce grapes of the highest quality that give life to internationally award-winning piscos and wines of a unique character. This tour takes you to the heart of the valley's most iconic wineries.
We will visit century-old artisanal wineries where the pisco-making process is carried out using wooden wine presses and ancestral clay jars, as well as modern wineries with state-of-the-art technology. A contrast that illustrates the evolution of a living tradition.
The experience culminates in a tasting guided by a local winemaker, where you will learn to identify aromas, flavors, and grape varieties, accompanied by a typical local lunch featuring local products: pecan tejas, frijoles colados, and sweet empanadas.
Detailed Itinerary
Step 1: Departure from Paracas/Ica (9:00 AM)
Hotel pickup. Transfer to the wine valley of Ica. The guide introduces the history of pisco during the journey.
Step 2: Artisanal Winery — Ancestral Process (10:00 AM)
Visit to a century-old winery. Observation of the press, grape stomping, distillation in copper stills, and artisanal bottling.
Step 3: Industrial Winery + Vineyards (11:30 AM)
Tour of a modern winery with oak barrel cellars. Walk through vineyards in full production.
Step 4: Wine and Pisco Tasting (1:00 PM)
Guided tasting of 4–5 varieties, including Quebranta, Torontel, and Italia piscos, plus red wine. Pairing with local cheeses.
Step 5: Typical Lunch + Return (2:30 PM)
Lunch at a local restaurant with a typical local menu. Return with arrival at approximately 5:00 PM.
